Tim Adnitt

Tim is a London-based composer, bass player and producer / engineer. He has diverse musical interests that have led to collaborations with leading artists in the fields of dance, theatre and jazz. Tim is co-founder, bass player and Artistic Director of the Avenue A Ensemble whose debut album Rocking Horses was released to great acclaim in 2009. Aside from his solo project, Tim also performs regularly with Dylan Bates’ Waiting on Dwarfs.

Since 2009, Tim has had a close working relationship with Royal Opera House Associate Choreographer Sarah Dowling. Collaborations include Remote (Royal Opera House), Forest Sale (Royal Opera House), Stupor (Greenwich Dance Agency), Reality TV (INTOTO Dance Company) and The Seekers (Royal Opera House & Latitude Festival). Other theatre work includes Kingdom of Earth (The Print Room, Offie 2011 Nomination for Best Sound Designer), Belfast Girls (King’s Head Theatre), Russian Fairytales (Royal Shakespeare Company Studio) and Prelude (Arts Activated National Conference, Sydney).

As a Producer and Engineer, Tim has worked on several critically acclaimed records including Loose Tubes’ Dancing on Frith Street (LM 005, Jazzwise Reissue & Archive Album of the Year 2010), Katya Sourikova’s Ivan’s Dream (WVR 005, All About Jazz, Best of 2011) and Attab Haddad’s Days Distinctive (WVR 006).

Tim also works as Assistant Composer to jazz artist Django Bates. Projects with Django include House of Games (Almeida), Julius Caesar (Royal Shakespeare Company), The Postman Always Rings Twice (Playhouse, West End), Stairs to the Roof (Chichester), As You Like It (Royal Shakespeare Company) and orchestral projects with London Sinfonietta, Britten Sinfonia, Duisburg Philharmonic, Metropole Orchestra and ASKO Ensemble.
